Vacation Bible School
VBS, I remember it when I was a kid! I used to get so excited, games, singing, prizes... all that stuff. Learning about God wasn't at the top of my list though. I didn't really wanna learn about God, but if memorizing a verse meant getting a present, sure, I'd do it, I'd memorize ten. Thats just me though.I volunteered for VBS at the Frederic Baptist Church last week, I had no idea it would be so much fun. I got to know the people that attend so much better. I would never have been getting interested in getting to know any of them a year ago, but that are all so awesome! They treated me like I actually belonged to the church. Very cool people.
I think I learned about as much as the kids this past week. I really didn't know about teaching them because half the time I don't even know what I'm talking about, so I had to listen very carefully to what preacher was saying. I worked with an awesome girl named Tammy on teaching the five year olds. Yes, they were SO hyper!! but it was fun, and they learned at lot throughout the week. I've been walking around singing those little songs we all learned for days.
Well, I think the most amount of kids we had all week was about fourteen. Yeah, that's it. Someone told me that usually the kids were lined up, waiting to come inside and start VBS, but not this year.
I really couldn't stop thinking about it, I asked someone and she said, "it's the times."
I still can't stop thinking about it.
